Arcata Theatre Lounge hosts Science Fiction Pint and Pizza Night featuring Ed Wood Films with Night of the Ghouls, and Glen or Glenda . Doors open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Sequoia Park ZooÕs Conservation Lecture Series at 7pm in the Sequoia Park Zoo classroom. Chris West, Wildlife Biologist for the Yurok Tribe, will present an illustrated talk on the ÒThe California Condor: Recovery Still in the BalanceÓ.

Thursday, February 09

Northern California Association of NonprofitsÊwill offer a networking luncheon on ÒHigh Performance TeamsÓ from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Humboldt Area Foundation in Bayside.
Humboldt County Bookmobile will be at the Big Lagoon School from 11:30am to 12:30pm; the Orick Elementary School from 1 to 2pm; and downtown Orick by the flagpole from 2:05 to 4pm.
Thyroid Cancer Support Group will meet at the American Cancer Society at 2942 F St. in Eureka from 6:30 to 8pm.
Mark DuPont will present "Permaculture in the Klamath Knot,ÊTransitioning to a Post Carbon Culture in Northwestern California" at the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology at HSU from 6 to 8pm.
Arcata Theatre Lounge hosts and Humboldt Baykeeper, Ocean Conservancy, and Humboldt Surfrider present sea-themed films during Ocean Night. Films start at 7 p.m. A raffle takes place after the second movie.

Friday, February 10

Gloriana Musical Theatre auditions for Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. at Gloriana's office in Fort Bragg from 5pm to 8pm. Come prepared with a short song to sing.
College of the Redwoods Book of the Year committee will host a free public showing of the award-winning movie ÒThe HelpÓ at 6 p.m. on CRÕs main Eureka campus in the Life Science Building, room 102.Ê A short question-and-answer session will follow the movie.
North Coast Co-op is hosting a reception for the Lexicon of Sustainability Art Show on display at its 8th & I location in Arcata from 6 to 8 pm. Refreshments will be served.
Plaza Design Arcata presenst Mixed Media New Works by Anastasia Zielinski with live harp music by HartStrings during Arts Arcata from 6 to 9 pm.
707 Cannabis College Class from 6 to 9pm will feature: Cannabis and the Cannabinoids, Patient tools for evaluating cannabis therapy, Cannabis Origin, Uses and Current Research and more in the Meadows Business Park, Redway.
Beginnings will be hosting its' second Poker Challenge at the Octagon in Briceland. Sign-ups will begin at 6:30 and play begins at 7pm. This is a 21 and over event.
Arcata Theatre Lounge screens Ghost at 8pm.
Arcata Playhouse presents The Professor Willikers Puppet Slam. A festival of short form puppetry for adults in a cabaret format at 8pm.
Mateel Community Center in Redway welcomes back comedian, Rodger Lizoala, to the monthly Mateel Comedy Cabaret. Doors open at 8pm with comedy at 8:30.
Alibi in Arcata presents Clampitt Family and New Five Cents at 10:30pm.
