Cal Fish and Wildlife Strategic Vision staff announce appointment recommendations

According to information sent to KMUD News, dated Aug. 8, 2011:
The California Fish and Wildlife Strategic Vision staff made Stakeholder Advisory Group appointment recommendations to the Executive Committee today. The 52 staff-recommended members were selected from more than 130 applicants. The proposed members were selected using the criteria and interest areas mandated by AB 2376 (Huffman). The Executive Committee will hold a public meeting Wednesday, Aug. 10 where they will act on the staff recommendations. Following the Executive Committee’s action, the Stakeholder Advisory Group will later be broken out into smaller working groups in order to concentrate their efforts on specific issue areas. The list of staff-recommended members includes three Humboldt County representatives, Craig Tucker of the Karuk Tribe, Thomas O’Rourke from the Yurok Tribe and Walter Duffy from Humboldt State University.  Click here to see all of  the Proposed Stakeholder Advisory Group Members.
The first meeting of the Stakeholder Advisory Group will be held Friday, Aug. 19 at 9:30 a.m. in the Resources Building Auditorium, 1416 Ninth Street, Sacramento, California 95814. Members are welcome to participate via WebEx.  The meeting agenda can be found here.
At the Aug. 10 executive committee meeting, the committee will also vote to appoint two scientists to the California Fish and Wildlife Strategic Vision Blue Ribbon Citizen Commission. The proposed appointments to the Blue Ribbon Citizen Commission are:

  • David M. Graber, PhD, Chief Scientist, Pacific West Region, National Park Service
  • Skyli McAfee, Executive Director, California Ocean Science Trust
